Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | President Yoweri Museveni is delivering the State of the Nation address in Kololo.
He thereafter declared the 4th session of the 11th Parliament open.
In her communication earlier, Speaker Anita Among said that to achieve a people-centred legislature, Parliament will hold regional outreach sittings that will cover the four traditional regions of Uganda- North, East, West and Central.
She said that during the 3rd Session, Parliament significantly reduced the turn-around time of House business through timely consideration of Bills, Motions, Reports and Presidential Appointees, among others. “There has been tremendous improvement of the quality of legislative output,” Among said.
According to the Speaker, the inaugural regional outreach sitting will be held on 29th – 30th August 2024 at Kaunda Grounds in Gulu City, Northern Uganda.
