2 school directors arrested over murder of teacher and child

Kiboga, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Police in Kiboga district are holding two directors of Spring of Wisdom Primary school on allegations of murdering two people.

The suspects are Bruno Ddamulira and  Gladys Nakalyango, both directors of Spring of Wisdom Primary school in Kiboga district while the deceased persons have been identified as Noeline Nabwenjje 26, a teacher at Spring of Wisdom Primary school and her one year old child Jonan Gayel.

Available information obtained by Uganda Radio Network-URN indicates that unknown assailants raided Nabwenjje’s rented room in the night of June 30th in Kyanja cell in Kiboga town council and hacked her severally in the throat, killing her on the spot.

They then descended on her one-year old boy who was in the same house and hacked him too severally on the head and face. He also died on the spot.

After executing their mission, the assailants later locked their victims inside the house and fled to an unknown destination.

Constatine Ndawula, the Kyanja LC1 Chairperson says, area residents became suspicious after the deceased persons failed to wake up the following  morning.

He says the residents with his assistance forcefully broke the deceased door, only to find their lifeless bodies lying in a pool of blood inside their house.

They later alerted the police who swiftly rushed to the crime scene and commenced investigations.

Racheal Kawala, the Wamala region police spokesperson confirmed to URN the arrest and detention of the two suspects stating that they were arrested on Monday and that they are to help police with investigations.

According to Kawala , police picked up the two bodies that were conveyed to the Kiboga general hospital for postmortem examination before they were later handed over to the relatives for burial.

She stated that the postmortem report indicated that the deceased persons succumbed to over bleeding following injuries inflicted on them by their attackers.

Kawala further stated that the hunt for other suspects believed to have participated in both murder cases is ongoing appealing to the public to cooperate with the police by availing crucial information that can lead to the of more suspects.
