THIS WEEK: 800 pass LDC Pre-entry
Kampala, Uganda | THIS WEEK | An improvement in performance has been recorded after the Law Development Centre (LDC) released results of the 2017/2018 pre-entry examinations indicating 814 of the 1797 candidates who sat for the exam to have passed. This represented a pass rate of 45.2%. Last year only 35% of the 1650 who sat passed.
299 of the 420 students who sat from Makerere University passed whereas those from Uganda Christian University were 229 of the 435 students who sat. Islamic University in Uganda that had the highest number of students sitting at 455 had only 127 passing.
However over the years, many have failed the entry exam for their post graduate diploma in legal practisecourse something that prompted officials at the center to propose an assessment of the exam’s relevance and impact.
The initial objective of the pre-entry examination was to gauge the students’ capabilities after they graduate from the universities.
