As part of the AAR CSR programme that is done monthly in selected areas to give back to communities the AAR Acacia clinic in partnership with Nakasero Blood Bank over the just ended weekend organized a blood donation exercise and health camp at Nakumatt supermarket Bukoto.
This was the fourth blood donation drive event under AAR Acacia’s ‘Seven months of saving a life’ campaign. The campaign plans for one blood donation event every month till September this year. Started in March this year, the blood donation event is part of the activities to celebrate AAR’s 30years.
Humphrey Asiimwe the manager Acacia AAR Clinic while addressing the media during the blood donation exercise said, “AAR has long understood the importance of donating blood to save lives and therefore continues to have blood donation drives and other health activities in communities because blood donation is a vital aspect of the health care service delivery.”
Asiimwe also encouraged the public to donate blood and also better their health through regular checkups. The event fits well with the AAR Health care mission of providing health care solutions that make a difference to life. Over 70 people turned up for the exercise despite the early morning rains.
