Kaabong, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Police in Kaabong District are hunting for the suspected armed Karamojong warriors who raided Komuria west trading center and killed one man on the spot before stealing money in one of the local bars.
It’s alleged that on the 04/01/2024 at around 09:00PM unidentified armed warriors wearing police uniform started shooting randomly at people who were at the trading center killing Okidi Damian on spot and injuring two other persons.
The assailants also robbed an unspecified amount of money from a bar belonging to Abraham Longoli.
Michael Longole, the Mt. Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson confirmed the incident asserting that a team of detectives visited the scene and collected the body of the deceased was conveyed to Kaabong General Hospital for Postmortem.
Longole added that the two other persons injured have been taken to Kaabong Hospital for treatment.
He said that the Police Dog was introduced to the scene and lost track because the scene of crime was contaminated by the first responders.
‘’Other inquiries have commenced and we request the community to remain calm to allow us complete pending inquiries, the suspects will be arrested and taken to court,’’ Longole explained.
