Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Bank of Uganda Golfers have won the CEO’s Annual Bankers Golf Sports Gala at the Uganda Golf Club.
The central bank team, that returned with 107 points, was spurred by Kenneth Egesa with 36 points, Serwano Walusimbi with 35 points while Kalisa Katongole and Akura Mugyenyi returned 36 and 24 respectively.
ABSA Bank was runner up with 100 points, there team was made up of Phillip Walera, Dickson Agaba, David Wandera and Wilbrod Owor
The annual Bankers Sports Gala is held every year and is organizing by the Uganda Bankers Association together with Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services.
This year dolf was incorporated as part of the activities to celebrate this year’s gala other activities involve 30 day fitness challenge, quiz games, outdoor andindoor Games.
It also gave an opportunity for various Bank CEO’s to learn the game at the Uganda Golf Club’s golf and Putting range.
“BOU is happy to win this year’s edition the first of it’s kind,” Akura Mugyenyi, the captain of the central bank’s side said. All leading Banks in Kampala took part in the first edition of this tournament.
