Entebbe, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Bridget Basiima completed a remarkable year by winning the MTN Grand Tee of Tees on Saturday in Entebbe. The Medical student at Mild May Insistute of Health Sciences returned a score of 64 nett, to win the Ladies Overall Order of Merit golf title on count back .
“Wow. This is the second time I am winning the Overall Ladies Order of Merit, I am so super excited about this victory,” an elated Basiima said. “I must thank God for this beautiful win.”
Michael Monne, wrapped up the Order of Merit men’s title, for his perfect round of games, all year, that led to his crowning as MTN Uganda brought down the curtain on the golf season at East Africa’s oldest golf club.
No golfer claimed the car staked for a hole in one, on Hole 11.
MTN Chief Executive Officer Sylvia Mulinge later laid the foundation for the construction of the Halfway house at Entebbe Club.
The awards ceremony had a fireworks display and Music Diva Winnie Nwagi, performing for the golfers and invited guests.
The tournament was co sponsored by Huawei, Cfao Motors, AfriSafe Insurance Brokers, Aquafina Water, Pepsi Uganda and Castle Lite.
