After reporting to Nakawa court several times for a mention of his treason case only for state to always say they are still doing investigations, Opposition Leader Rtd Col. Kizza Besigye vowed never to go back even as high court had given him a condition of reporting to court every month after granting him bail.
On Feb.27 however Grade One Magistrate Noah Ssajjabi issued fresh summons for him to appear before the same court on Mar.27.
Besigye is accused of inciting the public to overthrow government after he declared himself president of Uganda following the February 2016 election which he to date claims he won. He was arrested a day before May 14, 2016 when the president was sworn in after a video of him in a fake swear- in act started circulating on social media. Before being granted bail, Besigye was detained at Luzira prison for more than a month.
