Rev Canon Samuel Kahuma, 57, has been consecrated as the new Anglican Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara diocese in Hoima.
Kahuma was presented before Archbishop Stanley Ntagali formally for a few queries to determine whether he was qualified for admission into the church administration.
“I am determined by God’s grace. I am ready the Lord being my helper,” he announced after being consecrated as crowds cheered from St Peter’s cathedral grounds at Duhaga, Hoima.
Nathan Kyamanywa the outgoing bishop retired before clocking the mandatory retirement age of 65 and he announced that he had handed over episcopal jurisdiction over the diocese.
President Museveni commended Kyamanywa for his role in development and looked forward to the service of Kahuma.
