Kikuube, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Kikuube police are holding a man accused of stabbing his employer to death. The suspect is Jackson Tushabomwe, a resident of Bwera village in Butoole parish, Kyanagwali sub county in Kikuube district. He is accused of brutally murdering his employer John Turyamureba, a resident of the same area. The suspect has been working on the deceased’s farm in the same village.
It is alleged that the duo developed a quarrel at around 11 pm on Sunday over unknown reasons and in the process, Tushabomwe picked a sharp knife that he used to stab the deceased twice in the neck killing him instantly.
Godwin Munanura, the area LC1 chairperson told Uganda Radio Network in an interview on Monday that although Turyamureba sounded an alarm, it was too late for residents to save his life as they found him already dead when they arrived at the scene.
He says that Tushabomwe tried to flee from the crime scene but residents pursued him and arrested him. They also recovered the knife he used to stab the deceased. Residents later handed him over to Kikuube police station for further interrogations.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson says the suspect who is locked up at Kikuube Central police station will appear in court on murder charges. He says police have handed over the deceased’s body to his relatives for burial after conducting a postmortem.
