Moroto, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Residents of Katikekile sub county in Moroto district are excited about the construction of a police station in Nakiloro, at the border point between Uganda and Kenya.
The sub-county has only one police post at the sub county headquarters but the area which is a growing centre has been without any security personnel, which exposed the women and children to abuse.
Veronica Lokeris, a resident of Nakiloro Parish said the intervention is timely. Lokeris who donated the land for a police station says the community especially the women are facing several cases of domestic abuse.
She hopes with the construction of a police station in the area, criminal acts will be reduced.
