Kampala, Uganda | GODFREY SSALI | The High Court in Kampala has summoned MP Tororo North County, Annet Nyakecho to respond to claims by OWAIS Motors (U) Ltd that she has refused to pay 85 million shillings being balance for the car she purchased.
Owais motors says, that on 13 February last year the MP purchased motor vehicle UBA 730 B Toyota land cruiser at 150 million shillings.
That at the execution of the agreement she paid 65 million shilling leaving a balance of 85 million shillings which she promised to pay in four installments starting 13 March 2017.
However, to date without any just reason she refused to honour her part of the agreement, despite several demands and remainders.
Now the car company wants Court to compel the MP to pay 85 million shillings, damages and costs of the suit.
She has 15 days within which to file her defence before Justice Lydia Mugambe, to whom the case file has been allocated for hearing.
If she fails, the judge may proceed to pass judgement in her absence.
