Soroti, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) has today issued an Investment license and made available five acres of land in Soroti Industrial Park to enable Prof. Patrick Ogwang set up a Jena Herbals Ltd-factory.
“Our focus is on supporting local investors. We believe that our country can be built by ourselves,” said state minister Anite Evelyn after she handed over the license, processed in a just one hour, to Jena Herbals Ltd.
Jena Herbals Ltd-factory are the producers of COVIDEX, recently approved by Uganda’s drug authority, as a remedy in the treatment of COVID-19 symptoms.
Prof. Patrick Ogwang and his team met top officials of UIA to discuss the pathogenic economy and how the government can help champion and support local scientists and innovators.
“Our goal is to make sure that we can support the local investors to set up and register their businesses as soon as possible. The land will enable him develop his and other solutions to enable the growth of the pathogenic economy,” said Anite, State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization.
