Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | DStv has announced that it will be giving customers access to pre-season football action from ‘The Beautiful Game’ with a Football Open Window running from 24 July to 11 August 2024.
In this period, SuperSport Football Plus Africa and SuperSport Football Plus Nigeria will be available from the DStv Access package and up.
That means that more even more customers will be able to get a glimpse of their favourite European teams from the likes of the Premier League, La Liga – as well as African favourites Kaizer Chiefs and Young Africans – as they go about preparing for the start of the 2024-25 league football season!
“I’m really excited for this upcoming season,” said Citizen’s manager Pep Guardiola. “I’m happy here. Every season I need the break but after that, I recharge my batteries and I have the same energy as usual. I know the competition is coming, and I am fully focused on that.”
Saturday 27 July pits Chelsea against Celtic (22:10 LIVE on SuperSport Action) at Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana, while Sunday 28 July features a potential thriller between Manchester City and AC Milan (00:10 LIVE on SuperSport Football Plus) at the iconic Yankee Stadium in New York in the early morning. The afternoon gives fans of South African and Tanzanian clubs Kaizer Chiefs and Young Africans a chance to see their teams in action in the Toyota Cup Preseason tournament in Bloemfontein (15:00 LIVE on SuperSport Football Plus).
“What also encouraged me is that [Chiefs] is a big club and the most popular in South Africa, as well as in terms of infrastructure at the highest level, and marketing, but sportingly, it declined a lot due to the emergence of other teams, and I came to put it back on the right track,” said new Amakhosi manager Nasreddine Nabi.
