Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has partnered with Makerere University’s School of Veterinary Medicine to provide students with essential financial literacy skills, empowering them to make informed financial decisions that will benefit both their personal and professional lives. Samuel Matekha, the head of marketing and communications at DTB Bank, highlighted the importance of a balanced approach to physical, mental, and financial well-being. He emphasized that responsible money management is not only a key to personal success but also a vital tool for creating long-term positive impact in their communities.
Matekha said: “Your choices matter. The decisions you make today will shape your tomorrow. The ability to manage what you have now will open doors to greater opportunities in the future.”
He urged the students to approach financial management with discipline and careful planning, stressing that success is not only about making money but also about using it wisely to foster growth and change.
“This initiative is part of DTB’s broader efforts to support Uganda’s youth by providing them with skills that extend beyond the classroom. Financial literacy is increasingly important, and by equipping students with these skills early on, we are ensuring a lasting impact,” he added.
