Easy Birdies academy eyes future golfers

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Easy Birdies Golf Academy (EBGA) has stepped up a campaign to spread the game of golf among school going children in Kampala and Entebbe.

Hannington Mpiima, the executive director of the academy, says interest in the game is growing among the young. Easy Birdies Golf Academy, was founded in late 2023, with the main objective of teaching young golfers the skills of the game.

“We are excited to have EBGA up and running. This initiative and academy will help to nurture and groom young golfers in their journey to become the best golfers in the world as they take professionalism,” Mpiima said.

The academy has a Uganda Golf Union sanctioned program running at Entebbe Club, the Uganda Golf Club and Lake Victoria Serena Golf Club and Resort. They also work with the US Kids Program.

The academy has professionals led by national team coach Flavia Namakula, Brian Toolit, Becca Mwanja, Irene Nakalembe and Henry Lujja conducting regular clinics for students during holidays mainly.
