Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Ecobank Uganda has joined forces with Ria Money Transfer, a global leader in cross-border remittance services, to revolutionize the way Ugandans send and receive money. This strategic partnership will make it easier than ever for the Ugandan diaspora to support their loved ones back home.

Under the new agreement, customers can now conveniently receive funds directly into their Ecobank accounts. For those without Ecobank accounts, cash pickups are available at any Ecobank branch or through the bank’s extensive network of sub-agents across Uganda. This seamless integration will eliminate the need for lengthy and often complicated remittance processes.

Grace Muliisa, Managing Director of Ecobank Uganda, expressed her excitement about the partnership, emphasizing its significance for Ugandans both at home and in the diaspora. She highlighted the growing demand for reliable and efficient financial solutions for Africans living overseas and stated that this collaboration aligns perfectly with Ecobank’s mission to provide unmatched convenience in global funds transfer services.

El Hadj Malick Seck, Managing Director of Ria Money Transfer – Africa, echoed Muliisa’s sentiments, noting that this partnership is valuable to Ria’s global network of over 580,000 physical locations in nearly 200 countries. He emphasized the importance of East Africa, particularly Uganda, in Ria’s operations and expressed confidence that this collaboration will provide even greater convenience for Ugandans sending money to their families back home.

The partnership between Ecobank Uganda and Ria Money Transfer is expected to impact the lives of many Ugandans significantly. By streamlining the remittance process and expanding access to financial services, the two companies are helping to bridge the gap between the Ugandan diaspora and their families back home.
