The election of the African Union Commission boss will be high on the agenda of the AU week-long summit to take place in Kigali next week.
Uganda’s very own, former Uganda VP Specioza Kazibwe is the candidate that has been fronted by East Africa and is currently ‘continent trotting’ to converse support for the highly coveted seat.
The current chairperson is South Africa’s Dlamini Zuma who assumed office four years ago.
Kazibwe faces strong contention for the seat against Foreign Minister of Equatorial Guinea, Agapito Mba Mokuy and Botswana’s Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi.
