Equity Bank Uganda puts smile on faces of clients and staff in Customer Service Week 2024

‘One team, one job’ says boss and officer

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | This year’s Customer Service Week that ends today, featured surprise activities by Equity Bank Senior Executive Management Team and Staff as well as special promotions, freebies, and unique deals for clients and customers.

Equity Bank Uganda has from Monday engaged clients, customers, and staff in a series of events to commemorate the annual Customer Service Week whose theme was “Above & Beyond.”

In a show of ‘going above and beyond’ to deliver great service and support to cherished clients and customers across the country, Equity Bank Senior Executive Management Teams including Heads of Department worked in different roles at Equity Bank branches to support customers. The teams carried out activities such as welcoming clients and customers into the branches, opening accounts, registration for mobile banking, and more.

Customer Service Week is an international festival that takes place every year during the first full week of October. It is focused on recognizing the significance of customer service and the individuals who provide support and assistance to customers daily.

In a video released by Equity Group, Dr. James Mwangi, Group CEO of Equity Group Holdings, stated that: “This is a week that reminds us of the importance of Customer Service Excellence. We seek to go above and beyond to deliver to the customers the promise that we have made to them. It is about providing you with the right products and services that enhance your ability to exploit opportunities for growth. Our duty and our commitment to you is excellent customer service”.

Speaking to clients and customers at the Kabalagala Branch, Equity Bank Uganda Managing Director,  Anthony Kituuka, stated that providing excellent service to customers is the cornerstone upon which Equity Bank was established.

“Customer service is more than just a term or corporate jargon at Equity Bank; it is a tradition that is ingrained in the way that the bank handles customers in accordance with the concept of “Respect and Dignity for Customers—Treating every customer with respect and ensuring that their dignity is upheld”, he said.

“At Equity Bank, customer service also encompasses the full of the interactions that the bank has with its customers, including everything from initial inquiries to follow-up support for signed up customers”, he continued as he engaged with clients and customers, helping them with their ATM card applications, opening accounts whilst having some great conversations about how Equity Bank Uganda can improve their services.

From the perspective of Equity Bank, customer service is concentrated on giving assistance, addressing problems, and ensuring the pleasure of every customer. This is true regardless of the type of bank balance or the amount of money that a customer has in their account; every customer is important.
