Luweero, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Four people have been rushed to Luweero Hospital in critical condition following a road accident in Luweero. The accident occurred this morning at Ngogoro village in Luweero district along the Kampala-Gulu highway.

This was after a commuter taxi, a toyota Hiace model infamously known as ‘Drone’, registration number UBF 314Q which was loaded with passengers coming from Nakasongola to Kampala, lost control and swerved off the road in a bend before overturning twice.

Luweero District Police Commander Abraham Tukundane says they have managed to rush the yet to be identified casualties to Luweero Hospital with serious injuries sustained on their heads, limbs among other parts of the body.

According to DPC Tukundane, the driver of the taxi just lost control due to reckless driving characterized by over speeding because he had not knocked any object.

The wreckage of the taxi has been towed to Luweero central police station as investigations continue.  This accident occurs just days when one person died and seven others were injured when a Fuso truck registration number UBE-042A lost control and rammed into the offices of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation in Luweero district.

The truck loaded with bricks swerved off the Luweero-Kiwoko road in Luweero town and hit a tree, crossed through a bodaboda stage before crashing through the building. The deceased person was a motorcycle rider who was stationed at the stage when the tragedy occurred.
