The Federation of Ugandan Football Associations (FUFA) has given Ugandan fans up to Jan. 20 to apply for the 2014 soccer World Cup tickets that kicks off mid-next year in Brazil.
According to the world soccer governing body, FIFA, fans from member countries that did not qualify for the world’s most popular sports event have a different platform on which to access the soccer tickets.
Speaking at the weekly press conference at FUFA House today (Jan.16), the FUFA spokesperson, Rogers Mulindwa spelt out the necessary requirements that fans intending to travel should present to the FUFA authorities.
Mulindwa said, the following will be crucial; a passport, proof to FUFA that they have the money to go to Brazil.
“You must also be able to show how many games you intend to watch during the tournament,” Mulindwa said.
Uganda’s national soccer team, the Cranes are currently involved in qualifying for the World Cup. They are in Group J alongside Senegal, Liberia and Angola. They have so far collected two points from two games and they next play Liberia in Monrovia in March.
