Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | SC Villa will have to serve all the sanctions imposed on them by the FUFA Disciplinary panel earlier this month due to hooliganism. The FUFA Appeals Committee has upheld the sanctions of the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel (CDP) following SC VIlla’s appeal.
Earlier this month, the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel (CDP) sanctioned SC Villa after investigations confirmed that their fans threw stones and poured urine at match officials, during their Uganda Premier League match with Wakiso Giants at Wankulukuku stadium contrary to the FUFA competitions rules.
The Disciplinary Panel decided to deduct two points and two goals from the club. The panel also ordered the club to host their next five league matches in a closed stadium in a neutral territory outside the jurisdiction of the FUFA Regional Football Associations of Kampala, Buganda, and Eastern. The stadium must be licensed for the 2022/23 StarTimes Uganda Premier League matches.
Additionally, the panel handed SC Villa a suspended deduction of two (2) points and two (2) goals for a period of 30 days within which, the club would avail the errant fans and all relevant details that orchestrated the hooliganism, for onward transmission to the match integrity committee for necessary action.
SC Villa appealed and lost the decision. In its statement, the FUFA Appeals Committee, says that SC Villa is required to continue serving the sanctions fully as their appeal to overturn the decision by the CDP was not successful. In a related development, the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel (CDP) has suspended the Gaddafi FC Head Coach Wasswa Bossa for two competition matches effective immediately.
Bossa confronted the match official in a threatening manner and used abusive language while contesting the penalty awarded to the opponent during their Uganda Premier League game against Wakiso Giants played on Friday, November 18th, 2022 at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium.
Additionally, the tactician will pay a fine of Shillings 1 million upon completion of the suspension. The committee also suspended Gadaffi FC player Godfrey Lwesibawa for two competition matches effective immediately. He is accused of confronting the match official in a threatening manner while contesting the penalty.
