The Independent Uganda: You get the Truth we Pay the Price

Government of Uganda has learnt with shock and sorrow the sudden death of the Honorary Counsul for the Royal Kingdom of Thailand, James Mulwana who passed away on Tuesday Jan. 14 2013.
In a press release, the minister for information and National Guidance, Mary Karooro Okurut read, “Mulwana will be remembered as a genuine industrialist and philanthropist who contributed to the development of Uganda and Africa as a whole.”
The Minister’s message which she read on behalf of the government says Mulwana was not only a true patriot but also a friend of the NRM government and all peace loving Ugandans.
He will be remembered for his extreme modesty and discipline an attribute that endeared him to the young and the old. He was known for his dedication, sheer hard work, humility and honesty.
“At this point in time, Government of Uganda would like to extend special condolences to the bereaved family at this trying moment,” added the message.
Responses from the social media that The Independent managed to track posted moments after the public learnt of the demise of Mulwana included Conrad Nkutu who posted his message saying, “ Very sad to learn of the passing on of James Mulwana, an industrialist, friend, man of integrity and positive example. Rest in Peace.”
While the former Vice president and MP for Busiro North, Dr Gilbert Bukenya post said, “James made an invaluable contribution to Uganda’s investment and has empowered many Ugandans and indeed many have benefited from his deeds either directly or indirectly.
He said that, “Mulwana’s commitment to promoting the business sector will be sadly missed.”
The late James Mulwana was born in 1936 and is survived by a wife and three children.
