ICPAU 2024 accountancy award recipients inspire the profession

Entebbe, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Recipients of the 2024 Accountancy Service Awards, organized by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU), have given hope to the profession by upholding ethical values, providing excellent service to clients, and contributing to economic growth. The awards are an annual event, presented during the institute’s seminar.

On September 6, Mercy Kainobwisho, the registrar general and executive director of the Uganda Registration Services Bureau, served as the chief guest at the awards dinner held in Entebbe, about 40km from Kampala city centre. At least seven recipients left the ceremony feeling energized.

The Woman Accountant of the Year 2024 award was presented to CPA Mary Theresa Kiggundu for her outstanding contribution to the accountancy profession in Uganda.

The Young Accountant of the Year 2024 award was given to CPA Joseph Osako, recognizing his significant impact on the profession.

CPA Keto Kayemba received the prestigious Gold Service Award, while the Unique Humanitarian Award 2024 was presented to Pastor Gary Skinner for his exceptional contribution to humanity in Uganda.

The Uganda National Oil Company was named Institutional Partner of the Year 2024, honoring its contributions to the accountancy profession. CPA Uganda-Ankole Region received the Regional Members Network of the Year 2024 award for its outstanding work in the field.

Additionally, John Bosco Ntangaare was awarded ICPAU Honorary Membership for his remarkable contributions to the accountancy profession in Uganda.
