Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT  |  Sports Club Villa has held Express FC in a goalless draw in a Star Times Uganda Premier League match plated at Bombo Military playground this evening.

The draw mostly affects the Red Eagles who entered the game in pursuit of three points to bridge the gap between them and the table leaders Vipers SC.  However, they remain in third place with 36 points while SC Villa is left outside the top four with 29 points.

Although the game started at a low pace with both teams sharing the possession and with no visible threats created by either side, Express eventually picked up more chances even though they could not produce any goals. Villa’s effort by Muhammad Ssenoga was saved by Express’s custodian Mathias Muwanga, leading to a deadlock.

This was Express FCs sixth draw in seventeen games while SC Villa was registering their ninth draw of the season. Express’s assistant captain and goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga said the draw against SC Villa is impressive for them and added that they will build from that in their next game against Mbarara City.

Vipers remain the table leader with 39 points just goal difference between them and URA FC who are second on the table. Elsewhere in Uganda Premier league today, Bright Stars beat Wakiso Giants 3:2 while Police FC beat  UPDF 3:0.
