Joram Muzira’s liteside
Any three things we don’t know about you?
Perfection defines me. I am extremely loud which makes it easy for anyone to guess my presence but I am also a loner.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Success; I want to be part of someone’s success story. That is pure happiness for me and it has less to do with money.
What is your greatest fear?
Darkness freaks me out and makes me think of hell. It is why I sleep with the lights on.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I hate the fact that I am very straight forward and I wish I could revert and be calm.
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Being two-faced or pretentious; I can never be friends with such.
Which living person do you most admire?
Stacy Aamito Lagum; I started the journey with her and she hasn’t given up. Every time I want to give up, I remember how we used to jump on boda bodas and vow never to relapse.
What is your greatest extravagance?
I love clothes and good food all in the name of pampering myself.
What is the greatest thing you have ever done?
Working with Aamito to win Africa’s Next Top Model was a real dream come true.
What is your current state of mind?
I am relaxed.
What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Everything up and about socialites or those we call ‘slay queens’ is just hyped. They don’t deserve that much attention.
What does being powerful mean to you?
Self-belief, determination, drives and zeal defines a powerful person to me. Power starts with believing in yourself and it has nothing to do with wealth or politics.
On what occasion do you lie?
When it comes to business, you’ve got to be smart. Any business person lies.
What do you most dislike about your appearance?
I hated my scar so much when I was growing up but when I joined the modeling industry, I realised that it makes me unique.
Which living person do you most despise?
Anyone who doesn’t know what they are doing and yet they pretend to know. I also despise those who don’t value other people’s work.
What is the quality you most like in a man?
God fearing, self belief and self driven.
What is the quality you most like in a woman?
God fearing and self driven.
Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
I used ‘you’ and ‘Lol’ a lot.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
I love my sister Drusilla Muzira because she raised me so I will always be grateful. She is my number one support system who can take grenades for me. I also met someone who ended up being family; Maama Melanie supports me in all ways and she is one person I can run to at any time.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I used to sing in the church choir and would envision myself as a star in music some day but for now I just want to do it for fun.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I used to be very skinny so I wish I can lose more weight. I miss my older self.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Having up to seven models placed, signed to and working internationally.
Where would you most like to live?
I would stay in Uganda because I have hustled a lot here but it would be great for me to be in New York for just a season and return home.
What is your most treasured possession?
I treasure the fact that I can analyse situations and I am patient
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
People deserve equal rights so people should not be stigmatised based on where they come from, religion and their sexuality. That is the worst suffering ever.
What is your favorite occupation?
I live, breath and eat model management.
What do you most value in your friends?
Honesty, focus, having a vision and being a prayerful person.
Who are your favorite writers?
Charlotte Brontë, the writer of `Jane Eyre’; I like the way she uses her metaphors. She is not very direct and at the same controversial.
Who is your hero of fiction?
I like to go the reality way.
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Nelson Mandela was a very dedicated person to world peace so I look up to him.
Who are your heroes in real life?
I consider my sister Drusilla Muziira as my real life hero. Is she hadn’t taken us on and cared for us, we would be deep down there in the village and I can’t imagine the kind of life we would be living.
What is your greatest regret?
All my life experiences have been very fundamental in shaping my life.
How would you like to die?
After leaving a legacy that the world will remember me for, I can sleep and others wake up when I am long gone.
What is your motto?
Fight for your space.
