Government says the Minister for East Africa Cooperation (EAC) Eriya Kategaya who was flown to Nairobi for medical attention is now in a stable condition.
According to the Minister for Information and National Guidance, Mary Karooro Okurut, she dispels the earlier press report that was alarmist on the day when Kategaya was in coma state.
Kategaya has been in a poor health condition for the last six months as he is said to be suffering from a condition known as Thrombosis (a blockage preventing the flow of blood in the body caused by a clot or a lump of blood).
The third Deputy Prime Minister Kategaya is in stable condition and responding well to medication in Nairobi Hospital so Ugandans need not to worry, says Okurut.
This is contrary to the alarmist press reports earlier in the day which reported that Hon. Kategaya was in coma.
Kategaya felt unwell over the weekend and after consultations with his personal doctors, he was advised to shift to Nairobi Hospital where he is currently under doctor’s observations.
Okurut says, “We therefore wish him quick recovery.”
