Kasese, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Kilembe Mines Golf Club will be seeking to reclaim the Prestigious Helmet Cup, a inter club between them and East Africa’s Oldest Club Entebbe Club, this Saturday in Kasese.
“Our preparations are in high gear ahead of this much anticipated clash,” Daniel Monte, KMGC Captain said in a statement. “We need 62 points to reclaim this Cup and that is possible on our home course.”
Entebbe Club, who won the the first leg with a 62 shots difference will have to be at there very best to complete a double over there hosts.
The previous leg had Entebbe Club finishing with a nett score of 669 with there visitors picking 731 nett.
The best 10 scores of each side are determined to declare the winner. Each side can field a team of 22 golfers.
This tournament has been held between the historical clubs since the colonial days and has virtually grown over the years.
“We are keenly looking forward to the return leg and we are looking forward to a good clash at the same return victorious,” Jacob Byamukama, Entebbe Club Chairman stated.
“We a enjoy historic relationship with Kilembe and we enjoy the good golf camaderie on and off the course.”
