Kampala, Uganda | GODFREY SSALI | Former Bubulo county Member of Parliament Tony Kipoi Nsubuga was Friday charged before Nakawa Magistrate Court, with attempted Human trafficking of over 20 people from Bukedea District to the DR. Congo.
Kipoi was produced before Chief Magistrate Jamson Karemani, and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He is jointly charged with two Information Technology Specialists; Silas Opejo and Patrick Obella Engorit, but these were not present in Court, and criminal summons have been issued to them.
Prosecution led by Ann Ntimba alleges that the three accused persons, allegedly committed the offence in April 2013 in Bukedea District.
Kipoyi was then remanded to Luzira prison until March 16, 2018.
Last weekend Kipoi was extradited from Botswana where he is said to have fraudulently obtained money from people while disguising himself as a native doctor whereas not.
