Kampala, Uganda | GODFREY SSALI | Former Bubulo West MP Tonny Kipoi Nsubuga has been transferred from Luzira prison to Makindye Police Military Barracks over security reasons.
This follows a communication made to the General Court Martial in Makindye by the Prosecutor Maj. Raphael Mugisha, that he received intelligence information indicating that Kipoi’s life is in danger at Luzira prison.
Maj. Mugisha then requested the Court Chair, Lt.Gen. Andrew Gutti, that for purposes of Kipoi’s own safety, he should be allowed to be moved to Makindye Military police barracks, which application was granted.
Early this week, the Army Court remanded Kipoi to Luzira prison after being charged with offences relating to security, in which its alleged that Kipoi convened meetings for purposes of recruiting soldiers with an intention of jeopardizing security forces.
The former legislator was last month extradited from Botswana on allegations of defrauding people of millions of money while disguising as a native Doctor.
