Luwero Kadhi takes medical leave following road accident

Luwero, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Sheikh Ramadhan Mulindwa Nsanja, the Luwero District Kadhi of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), has taken a one-month medical leave after being involved in a road accident that injured him and damaged his official car.

The announcement was made by Sheikh Twaha Lubega Khamis, the Luwero Deputy Kadhi, who will assume Sheikh Mulindwa’s responsibilities during his absence.

Sheikh Mulindwa’s leave began on June 1, 2024, and will end on July 1, 2024. The leave is intended to aid his recovery. During this period, Sheikh Lubega will serve as Acting District Kadhi and oversee all Muslim affairs in the district.

Sheikh Lubega expressed the Luwero Muslim community’s wishes for Sheikh Mulindwa’s swift and full recovery.The accident occurred at Mabanda in Luwero Town Council, approximately 60 kilometers into Luwero District on the Kampala-Gulu highway, while returning from Gomba District on Thursday evening at around 8 p.m.

Sheikh Mulindwa, his driver Ali Muleppo, and the Muslim District Financial Officer Muhammed Galiwango were involved in the accident when their official vehicle, a Double Cabin with Registration Number UBN 362F, collided with the rear end of a stationary sugarcane truck.

On Saturday, His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, Uganda’s Deputy Mufti, visited Sheikh Mulindwa in Luwero. He conveyed a heartfelt message from His Eminence the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, who prayed for Sheikh Mulindwa’s rapid recovery.

Sheikh Mulindwa expressed gratitude to the community for their support and prayers, promising to resume his service with renewed vigor once fully healed.
