Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Long serving Lweza Parish priest Fr John Mary Vianney Mugabo,53, died Monday after a short illness. He had been admitted at Nsambya Hospital, where he reportedly succumbed to cancer.
St Joseph’s Lweza Parish in Kampala Arch Diocese comprises Kajjansi, Katale, Kitende, Kitiko, Kiwamirembe, Nnazziba, Lweza and Bugema.
Chairperson of Laity (Ssaabakristu) of Lweza Parish James Vincent Kamwesiga confirmed the news in a message to parishioners. “Dear Parishioners, it is now confirmed that our Parish priest /Dean Rev. Fr. John Vianney Mugabo is Dead. Burial is tentatively Wednesday at Lweza Parish,” he said.
The funeral will start with mass on Wednesday at 2pm, followed by burial at 4pm. Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga will lead the mass.
