Kagadi, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Unknown thugs raided Kiryanjagi trading center in Kabamba sub county in Kagadi district, killing a woman.
The machete-wielding thugs invaded the residence of Omuhereza Naku where they hacked his wife to death identified as Omuhereza Nassy.
They also hacked two children in the same family living them in critical condition. The children are nursing machete wounds at St Ambrose medical center in Kagadi town.
The attack happened at around 10 pm on Wednesday night.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying police investigations into the attack have commenced to establish the motive of the attack.
He says that by the time police was notified about the attack, it was too late to pursue the thugs since they had fled the scene. The deceased’s body is lying at Kagadi general hospital pending postmortem. Last week, Albertine police arrested seven suspects for their alleged involvement in armed robberies.
The suspects were picked up from various places in Kagadi and Kakumiro districts on suspicion of being part of the thugs who have been terrorizing mobile money agents in the two districts.
