Following an extensive selection process has the Madhvani Foundation through its scholarships Sub-Committee awarded a 172 University Scholarships worth sh711 million to gifted but financially challenged students for the 2016/2017 academic year.
It is the 14th consecutive year the foundation has given out scholarships since the reinstatement of the programme in 2003.
Chairman of the Scholarship Sub – committee Gabriel Opio said they are confident that the selected beneficiaries will complete their studies and go on to lay a valuable role in the development of the country.
The Foundation has educated over 2,000 University students, with scholarships worth over Shs4.3bn since inception.
