Kampala High Court Judge Masalu Musene has granted bail to Ivan Kamyuka, a man accused of murdering his fiance’s ex-lover at Club Guvnor in Kampala in August 2015.
Kamyuka has been on remand at Luzira Prison since August 2 last year, on charges of murdering John Ahimbisibwe commonly known as Jonnie amongst his peers.
Justice Musene ordered Kamyuka to pay sh5m and report to the High Court’s deputy registrar in-charge of criminal division twice every month starting from the November 11 2016.
Kamyuka’s four sureties including his mother and maternal uncles were ordered to sign a court bond of sh20m to ensure that he returns back for his murder trial.
Prosecution alleges that Kamyuka smashed Ahimbisibwe’s head with a liquor bottle after the two allegedly had a quarrel over a woman.
