Mbale, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Mbale Heroes football club has terminated the contract of its coach Bobic Odowa and his entire coaching staff. This follows after a disappointing start of four games without victory.
The decision to sack Odowa was reached during a team management meeting on Wednesday.
“We are grateful to Bobic Odowa and his coaching staff for what they have achieved in third time with Mbale heroes” read part of the press release signed by Jose Muhooli, the club’s public relations officer.
On Tuesday, Mbale Heroes lost a 1-0 loss to Gadaffi in the Uganda Cup round of 32 1st leg at Kyabazinga Stadium. The team also again lost to Gadaffi FC in the 2021 FUFA big league, drew 1-1 with Paidha Black Angels before being held to a disappointing 0-0 drew with Calvary at Mbale municipal stadium.
This prompted the angry fans to petition the management of the team demanding the sacking of Odowa.
Odowa formerly played for Mbale Heroes and Express FC. Mbale heroes have three days to appoint a new coach ahead of their next game in the return leg of the Uganda Cup on Sunday 11th April against Gaddafi at Mbale municipal stadium.
