Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | MTN Uganda’s fintech firm, MTN MoMo has contributed Shs 55 million to support Ekisaakaate Kya Nnabagereka slated for January 2025, reinforcing its commitment to empowering Ugandan youth and preserving cultural heritage through technology.
The launch event, held in the Bulange gardens last Wednesday at Mengo, featured Her Royal Highness, the Nnabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Nagginda, and guest of honor, MTN CEO, Ms. Sylvia Mulinge.
MTN MoMo MD Richard Yego said that MTN MoMo has a shared commitment with the Nnabagereka Development Foundation to create positive change and empower communities in Uganda.
“This collaboration goes beyond mere sponsorship; it is a shared vision of empowering the next generation,” Yego said.
Last January, MTN MoMo provided ICT services and technical expertise to teach participants how to code.
Her Royal Highness, the Nnabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Nagginda, expressed gratitude to MTN MoMo Uganda, noting that their support will significantly impact and transform the lives of young people.
“This generous contribution will not only empower our youth but also help preserve our rich cultural heritage for future generations,” she said.
