The NRM Vice-chairman Eastern Region Capt. Michael Mukula has been dragged to the Commercial Court for failure to pay over sh82 million for the Flight Jet helicopter he hired during the campaign period.
Court documents indicate that on November 17 2015, Capt. Mukula through his flight company Sun Air Ltd, hired an aircraft from Flex Air charters at Shs 500, 000 per flight hour.
Flex Air charters says as of March 2016, Capt .Mukula had accumulated arrears to the tune of sh82 million which he has refused to pay todate despite repeated demands.
The company now says it has suffered untold loss and has been inconvenienced by Capt Mukula’s actions for the last eleven months, for which he wants court orders compelling Mukula pay the said money with an interest at the current commercial rate.
The court’s deputy registrar Thaddeus Opesene received Flex Air Charter’s complaint, and has now issued summons giving the former Soroti municipality Mp Capt. Mukula 15 days to file his defence.
