Nabilatuk, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Denis Lokoru Kidon, the Senior Human Resource Officer of Nabilatuk district has been interdicted for alleged fraud. The Chief Administrative Officer, Luke Abong Bwangamoe has asked him to vacate office immediately.
In a July 5th, 2022 letter seen by our reporter, Abong attributes Kidon’s interdiction to many incidents including fraud and extortion of money from job applicants. He also accuses Kidon of overpaying staff on the district payroll.
“Since Mr.Lokoru has been solely the late entrant, he would be responsible for the anomalies if at all they are proved,” he said. Kidon described his interdiction as a witch hunt, which he vowed to fight using another approach.
“Yes I recieved the interdiction letter but all that’s in the letter is not true this is just a witch hunt,” he said. Joseph Lokol, a resident of Lorengedwat sub-county in Nabilatuk district, said corruption in the district is shocking.
“My daughter applied for teaching but she was asked Shillings 2 million, which I didn’t have, and up to now she’s still at home,” he said. Moses Lote, another resident said that many officials in the district need to be ejected.
