Sao Paulo, Brazil | THE INDEPENDENT & AFP | Hundreds of naked cyclists rode their bikes along Paulista Avenue in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to demand better condition of the city roads and to raise awareness on the safety of cyclists. The ride on Saturday, organised by the World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) international movement, also saw the riders demand that Brazil reduce oil dependence.
Brazilian cities have some of the poorest road safety records, with up to 37 cyclists killed in 2017 in Sao Paulo, a rise of over 23% from the previous year.
Reports indicate that 8,496 cyclists were killed between 2010 and 2015.
