Kampala, Uganda | GODFREY SSALI | The Commercial Court has summoned the ruling NRM party to respond to claims that it has refused to pay 580 million shillings being a debt for Presidential posters and flyers used in the 2016 Election Campaigns.
Elite Graphics Printers Ltd says that it was contracted in November 2015 to print over 4 million posters and flyers to be used for Presidential Campaigns, worth 1.3 billion shillings.
However, in February 2016, NRM only paid 800 million shillings leaving a balance of 580 million shillings which it has refused to pay despite repeated demands.
The graphic company contends that it has suffered untold loss for over a year now, ever since the NRM candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni won the Presidential race with the help of these posters and flyers.
NRM has been given 15 days to file its defence.
