Develop a mindset change for personal development, Minister Oboth Oboth tells constituents
Tororo, Uganda | JACKSON OBOTH | The Minister of State for Defence who is also Member of Parliament for West Budama Central Jacob Markson Oboth Oboth has assured his constituents and the people of Tororo that government is executing multi-pronged development programs in the district that will soon see rural communities enjoying electricity in their homes, piped water and well maintained feeder roads. He said these are key catalysts for personal development.
Oboth told a meeting of community leaders from different subcounties and district officials, including Mayor’s, RDCs and security officials who paid him a visit at his country home in Muwafu, Nabuyoga Sub county on December 30th that rural electrification works are already in progress in a number of subcounties in Budama central and other parts of the district.
He called on the leaders to jealously protect the government programs aimed at improving Community livelihood up to their logical conclusion. Oboth revealed that there are reports that eight electricity transformers that got lost in the process adding that such set backs should not be tolerated.
“Despite such setbacks we are hopeful that by end of this year 95 percent of the projects will have been completed” he said.
On water project the Minister said 300 homestead will be covered in the first phase.
On parish Development model he said sh1.2 billion will be coming to Mulanda subcounty alone every year, a significant increase from 300 million originally released annually.
He urged the people of Tororo to Develop a mind set change to push a development agenda through resilience and wit in doing businesses.
“You don’t need large sum of cash to start business and grow big. what you need is financial discipline and ability to grow from small to big. What we are song now through infrastructure Development Program is simply to put in place enabling environment for you to prosper. so you need to take advantage of them” Oboth implored his attentive audience.
Talking about health sector in his constituency Oboth said a number of Health Centers have need earmarked to be enhanced a d upgraded. He singled out Pajwenda, Mwelo and Nabiyoga Health Centers which have been earmarked for upgrade.
The Minister received aplouse when he said Pajwenda Town Council will soon benefit from an approved seven kilometers road development from Milo 8 on Jinja Main road to Pajwenda trading centers, a project he said will be completed in three months.
