Tororo, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Vice President Maj (Rtd) Jessica Alupo has urged leaders in Tororo district to focus on implementing programmes to improve roads, water and wealth creation that unite the common person, and move away from politics of divison. The Vice President said this August 7 at grand celebrations by Jopadhola at Achilet in Tororo to mark the Silver Jubilee (25 years) of the coronation of Kwar Adhola Moses Stephen Owor. He said all the other 12 are cities today, except Tororo. “We have been informed that a person has written to the Minister of Local Government, as a leader here, purporting that we do not want a city here. This is our Jerusalem, we cannot have anyone else talk on our behalf,” the Jago said. He also said Bukedi was one of the only regions in the country without a referral hospital, with patients seeking services in Mbale.
