Prime Minister constructs health center III for Mpasaana sub county

Health Minister Ruth Aceng commissions Mpasaana health center III.

Kakumiro, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Mpasaana sub-county in Kakumiro district has received a newly-built health center III thanks to Robinah Nabbanja, the area woman member of parliament and Prime Minister.

Nabbanja financed the construction of the health center to save residents of Mpasaana sub-county from travelling long distances in search of health services. The residents all praised Nabbanja for coming to their rescue.

Maureen Abigaba, one of the residents said that she had been travelling to the neighbouring Mubende and Hoima districts for delivery, adding that some women have been dying on the way to the hospital.

Angella Nyamahunge, another mother appreciated the prime minister for constructing the health centre III to bring services closer to them. Nyamahunge said that they have been facing huge challenges in times of delivery because of moving long distances.

Richard Kobusinge, a boda boda rider said that they have been riding long distances to get access to health facilities while passing on bad roads.

While commissioning the facility, the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja said residents of Mpasaana sub-county have been struggling to access health services, which prompted her to build a facility in their area.

Joseph Ssentaayi, the Kakumiro district LC V chairperson praised the prime minister for constructing three health facilities in different sub-counties in the district. He called upon the government to equip the health centers to serve their purpose.

The health minister Jane Ruth Aceng who attended the commissioning of the health center promised to avail beds after finding patients sleeping on the floor.

The Health Ministry Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine thanked the prime minister for using her money to construct, saying the government would take it fully in the next financial year.

The State Minister for Transport, Fred Byamukama also promised to fix the roads in the sub-county to help residents access health services.
