Moscow, Russia | XINHUA | Russia has accused the United States and Britain of targeting the website of the country’s election commission through cyberattacks.
“We are constantly faced with attempts to change or replace information on the website, attempts to take control of it, restrict its operation and so on,” Central Election Commission Chairwoman Ella Pamfilova told reporters on Tuesday.
“Thankfully, we have a strong security system and we are able to cope with these attacks, but such attempts are ongoing,” she added.
Russia will hold elections for deputies of the State Duma, or the lower house of parliament, on Sept. 19.
