Mbale, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Police have arrested three members of the same family in Mbale city and still hunting for another ten over the murder of a fellow resident known named as William Wanaboa aged 40 years of age. The suspects allegedly caught Wanaboa having sex with their mother.
Police identified the suspects as Lukia Nafamba who was caught in bed with the deceased at the time he was murdered, Abasa Naganda and Patrick Nabongo. They are all residents of Musoto cell, Malukhu ward in Industrial area of Mbale city.
According to David Masola, brother of the deceased, Wanaboa was beaten by the children of Nafamba, a 60-year-old widow, using stones, sticks, and bricks after finding him in bed with her in the house.
Masola insists that as a family they want police to serve justice by arresting those on the run such that they can face the law.
Steven Masika a human rights activist in Mbale condemned what family members did, urging people to desist from taking the law in their hands. He urged police to expedite the process of hunting down those on the run such that they can face justice.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson has confirmed the arrest of the three saying that they are still hunting for the ten to be taken in court and answer murder charges. He adds that the body of the deceased is currently at Mbale city’s mortuary for postmortem.
