Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Sheikh Shaban Mubaje has called upon the Muslim community to work and carry on investment opportunities in the country to live a meaningful life.
Mubaje made the remarks at the handover of iftar food items donated by Diamond Trust Bank to the leadership of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council at Old Kampala on March 28.
Mubajje urged Muslims and other Ugandans to work instead of following improper forces as he thanked DTB for the Iftar donation and underscored its importance to those in need during Ramadan.
“Through working, you will be able to create more wealth and help a good number of Ugandans and fellow Muslims to overcome poverty,” he said.
Andrew Musanje, the head of branches and channels at DTB expressed the lender’s commitment to inclusive financial services to all as he affirmed the bank’s commitment to support the Muslim community during seasons like Ramadan.
“As DTB, we have always been giving back to the Muslim community and today we have decided to come to Old Kampala Muslim Mosque, one of our business partners to give back to them,” Musanje said.
Mubajje further asked all the district Khadi to embrace DTB products and services.
DTB’s donation comes a day after President Yoweri Museveni hosted the Muslim community for an Iftar dinner at State House, Entebbe, and congratulated the Muslim faithful for successfully moving “this far in the Ramadan season.”
