The 4th Annual Academic summit will focus on innovative ideas with a focus on the enhancing the potential of A level students.
The summit will be held at Makerere University on June 25th, the chairman of the organising committee Sekitto Abdulhakim confirmed. There will be several science exhibitions.
Focus will be physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, food and nutrition and agriculture. The best three science A Level students in the different regions in 2015 will also be awarded together with the best selected science schools.
“We have organised an academic summit targeting science students at Advanced Level among selected schools. The summit will showcase science exhibitions, clinical exposures and inspirational talks at Makerere University.”
Ismail Asimwe, President at College of Veterinary Medicine, said innovations will include in livestock and processing techniques .
“We are encouraging innovations among students through value addition model and promoting organic farming free from chemicals. Although genetically modified organisms (GMO) provide products in the shortest possible time but doesn’t give room for replanting which leaves no space for keeping the seed.”
