Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | A 49 year old taxi driver in Bududa district has been found dead. The late David Wambwa has been a resident of Bushinyekwa lower cell, Nashula ward, Bududa town council in Bududa district.
His lifeless body was found lying in a nearby bush on Tuesday afternoon with a machete in the hands shortly after going to cut grass for his animals. The deceased’s body was first spotted by a passerby who was on his way to his business.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased’s body had marks on the neck and cuts on the hand, an indication that he was killed. James Wanasolo, the LC I chairperson Bushinyekwa lower cell, says the incident has left residents in shock since the deceased has been a good man in their community.
Andrew Khaukha, one of the community members said the deceased has been a man of the people. Hilary Nuwahereza, the Bududa District Police Commander described the incident as unfortunate, adding that they had picked up some suspects to aid their investigations.
Daniel Matseketse, the Bududa town council LC V councillor says they have lost 4 people in a similar manner within a space of two months, which raises concern. He asked security to step up its operations to curb the vice.
George William Wopuwa, the Bududa Resident District Commissioner said efforts to establish the masterminds of the murders in Bududa town council are ongoing. The deceased’s body was handed over to Bududa hospital for postmortem.
