Bushenyi, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | On Tuesday, the Principal Judge, Justice Flavian Zeija, inaugurated the Bushenyi High Court Circuit, marking a significant milestone in providing accessible justice to the local communities of Greater Bushenyi.
This circuit is part of a broader initiative by the Judiciary to establish 17 new High Court Circuits, including Ibanda, Ntungamo, Kasese, Paliisa, Patongo, Rakai, Wakiso, Moyo, Dokolo, Apac, Bugiri, Kitgum, Lugazi, Kumi, Kiboga, and Entebbe, aimed at improving access to justice across various regions.
The Bushenyi High Court Circuit will cater to the districts of Rubirizi, Sheema, Buhweju, Mitooma, and Bushenyi, aligning with the theme of Enhancing Judicial Accountability and Access to Justice. Justice Zeija emphasized that this initiative stems from the judiciary’s commitment to bringing courts and judicial officers closer to the people they serve.
